Botox & Neurotoxin FAQs

Do you offer Botox in Windsor Locks, CT?
Yes! Hydra Wellness offers Botox and neurotoxin treatments at our medical aesthetics and wellness practice in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Treatments are performed by licensed medical professionals and customized based on your facial anatomy, goals, and desired result.

We welcome clients from Windsor Locks and surrounding communities including Enfield, Suffield, East Windsor, Windsor, South Windsor, and the greater Hartford and Springfield areas.

How much does Botox cost at Hydra Wellness?
Botox and neurotoxin treatments at Hydra Wellness are $10 per unit.

Your total treatment cost depends on the number of units needed to achieve your desired result. Because everyone's facial anatomy, muscle strength, treatment areas, and goals are different, the number of units needed will vary from person to person.

Before treatment, we'll discuss your recommended treatment plan and expected cost so you know exactly what to expect.

What is Botox?
Botox is an injectable neurotoxin treatment used to temporarily relax specific facial muscles that contribute to expression lines and wrinkles. By reducing movement in targeted muscles, neurotoxin treatments can help soften the appearance of wrinkles and create a smoother, refreshed appearance while maintaining natural facial expression.

What areas can Botox treat?
Neurotoxins are commonly used to address areas such as:
• Forehead lines
• Frown lines between the eyebrows ("11 lines")
• Crow's feet around the eyes
• Bunny lines around the nose
• Chin dimpling
• Lip flip
• Downturned corners of the mouth
• Certain neck and lower-face concerns
During your consultation at Hydra Wellness, we'll discuss your concerns and determine which treatment areas may be appropriate for you.

How many units of Botox will I need?
There isn't one number that works for everyone.
The amount of Botox or neurotoxin needed depends on the treatment area, strength of your facial muscles, your anatomy, previous treatments, and the result you're looking for.
At Hydra Wellness, we evaluate your facial movement and create an individualized treatment plan rather than using the same number of units for every client.

Will Botox make me look frozen?
Our goal is a natural, refreshed result—not a frozen appearance.
Treatment is customized to your facial anatomy and desired outcome. Some clients prefer to maintain more movement, while others prefer a smoother appearance.
We'll discuss the look you're trying to achieve before treatment and develop your treatment plan accordingly.

Is Botox good for first-time patients?
Absolutely. Many of our clients are receiving Botox or another neurotoxin for the first time.
We'll walk you through the treatment, evaluate your facial movement, explain where injections may be placed, discuss expected results, and answer your questions before beginning.
There is no pressure to treat more areas than you're comfortable with.

Does Botox hurt?
Most clients describe Botox injections as a quick pinch.
The needles used for neurotoxin treatments are very small, and the injection process itself usually takes only a few minutes.

How long does a Botox appointment take?
Botox and neurotoxin appointments are typically quick.
Your first visit may take a little longer because we'll spend time discussing your goals, medical history, facial anatomy, and treatment plan. The injections themselves generally take only a few minutes.

When will I see results from Botox?
Botox and other neurotoxins do not work instantly.
You may begin noticing changes within several days, with the full effect generally developing over approximately two weeks. Individual results and timelines may vary.

How long does Botox last?
Botox and neurotoxin results commonly last around three to four months, although this varies from person to person.
Your metabolism, treatment area, dosage, and muscle activity can all affect how long your results last.
Regular treatments can help maintain your desired result over time.

Is there downtime after Botox?
Botox requires very little downtime, and most clients return to their normal daily activities after their appointment.
You may experience temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising around an injection site. We'll provide appropriate aftercare instructions following your treatment.

Can I get Botox before a wedding or special event?
Yes, but we recommend planning ahead rather than scheduling immediately before an important event.
Neurotoxin results take time to fully develop, and temporary bruising or swelling can occasionally occur.
If you have a wedding, vacation, photoshoot, or another important event coming up, let us know so we can help determine an appropriate treatment timeline.

What's the difference between Botox and other neurotoxins?
Botox is one brand of botulinum toxin used for cosmetic treatments. Other FDA-approved neurotoxins work through a similar mechanism, although there can be differences between products.
Your provider can discuss the neurotoxin options available at Hydra Wellness and help determine an appropriate treatment based on your goals.

Can Botox be used preventatively?
Some adults choose neurotoxin treatments before expression lines become deeply visible while their face is at rest.
By temporarily reducing repetitive muscle movement, neurotoxins may help soften the appearance of expression lines.
Whether preventative treatment makes sense for you depends on your anatomy, facial movement, and personal goals.

Am I a good candidate for Botox?
Many healthy adults interested in temporarily reducing the appearance of expression lines may be candidates for neurotoxin treatment. However, neurotoxins aren't appropriate for everyone.
Before treatment, we'll review your medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant factors to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.

IV Hydration Therapy FAQs

What is IV hydration therapy?
IV hydration therapy delivers fluids and vitamins directly into the bloodstream through a small catheter placed in your arm.
This allows for rapid hydration and nutrient delivery compared with oral supplementation.

Who administers the IVs?
All services at Hydra Wellness are administered by licensed medical professionals under medical director oversight.

How long does an IV hydration session take?
Most IV hydration sessions take approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on the infusion.
Injectable services typically take approximately 5–10 minutes.
During your IV, you can sit back and relax in our comfortable wellness space.

Does getting an IV hurt?
You may feel a quick pinch during IV placement or an injection, but most clients find the process very tolerable.
Once your IV is placed, you can relax comfortably while your infusion is administered.

How often can I receive IV therapy?
This depends on your health history and wellness goals.
Some clients receive IV hydration weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Our team will help determine an appropriate frequency based on your individual needs.

Who should not receive IV therapy?
IV therapy may not be appropriate for individuals with certain medical conditions, including kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or certain fluid balance disorders.
All clients complete a medical intake and screening prior to treatment to help determine whether IV therapy is appropriate for them.

What is included in my IV hydration visit?
Your visit may include:
• Medical intake and screening
• IV placement or injection
• Your selected infusion or injectable
• A comfortable lounge experience
• Monitoring by our clinical team
Our goal is to make your experience comfortable, relaxing, and personalized.

Can I add vitamins or injectable boosters to my IV?
Yes. Many clients customize their IV hydration experience with injectable or vitamin add-ons when appropriate.
Available options may include nutrients such as B12 or glutathione, depending on your selected treatment and individual needs.
Our team can help you determine which options may be appropriate for you.

Do I need an appointment for IV hydration?
Appointments are recommended to ensure availability.
We may be able to accommodate walk-ins depending on our schedule, but booking ahead is the best way to secure your preferred appointment time.

Are there side effects from IV hydration?
Side effects are generally uncommon but may include temporary bruising, soreness around the IV site, or a cool sensation during the infusion.
Our clinical staff monitors you throughout your visit for comfort and safety.

Are IV hydration treatments covered by insurance?
Hydra Wellness services are elective wellness treatments and are not billed to insurance.

What should I do before my IV hydration appointment?
Before your appointment, we recommend:
• Eating a light meal
• Staying well hydrated
• Bringing a valid ID
• Wearing comfortable clothing
If you have questions about medications or medical conditions before your appointment, please contact us.

What should I expect after my IV?
Experiences following IV hydration can vary from person to person.
We recommend continuing to hydrate, following any instructions provided by your clinical team, and listening to your body following treatment.
